Manager, Master Data Management

About the role

The Manager Master Data Management defines, governs and maintains master data assets for Innovative Medicine Quality Management & Digital, ensuring accuracy, consistency, integrity and compliance across business processes and digital platforms. The role bridges business functions and technology teams, establishes a governance framework and drives master data quality initiatives so that data supports operations, analytics, regulatory compliance and decision-making. It covers product, supplier, equipment, organization and reference data domains.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the MDM strategy and roadmap, and set up data governance processes, standards, policies and controls, including ownership and stewardship
• Chair governance forums and align with enterprise data governance frameworks
• Monitor and clean data sets, define quality metrics and dashboards, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Manage the lifecycle of master data, including creation, validation, approval, synchronization, maintenance, cleansing, deduplication and harmonization
• Partner with business and technology teams, train users and act as escalation point for data issues
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements and data privacy standards, support audits and document lineage and metadata
• Evaluate and implement MDM tools and integration workflows, and drive continuous improvement
• Lead and mentor data stewards and business SMEs, and influence senior stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred
• Proven ability in data management, master data management or data governance, with demonstrated experience implementing MDM programs
• Experience handling multi-functional stakeholders in global organizations and with data warehouse and cloud data platforms
• Leadership, strategic thinking, strong communication and continuous improvement competencies

Required skills

• MDM platforms such as SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, Reltio or Profisee
• Data governance and metadata platforms such as Collibra or Alation
• Data quality tools, SQL and data modeling
• Knowledge of APIs, data integration and cloud platforms
• Power BI or Tableau
