Manager Special Cargo

About the role

As a Manager of Special Cargo you will lead the end‑to‑end execution of IATA’s Special Cargo programme, ensuring the development, maintenance and delivery of key regulations for live animals, perishable goods and temperature‑controlled shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the Special Cargo strategy into actionable plans, deliverables and timelines.
• Lead working groups and task forces, acting as secretariat and coordinating agendas, discussions and follow‑ups.
• Draft, update and maintain IATA standards (LAR, PCR, TCR) and related publications.
• Provide structured reporting to the Head of Special Cargo, highlighting progress, risks and bottlenecks.
• Build and manage relationships with airlines, forwarders, shippers, regulators and other industry partners.
• Respond to industry queries and deliver technical and operational guidance.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as safety, sustainability, digital and operations to align delivery.
• Represent IATA at external events, industry forums and stakeholder meetings as delegated.

Required profile

• Proven experience in air cargo or special cargo regulations.
• Strong project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Ability to produce high‑quality documentation and reports.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional and external collaboration.
