Manufacturing Specialist (m/f/d)

About the role

Lonza is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to operate large‑scale stainless‑steel facilities for cell culture and purification processes in Visp, Switzerland. The role follows cGMP guidelines and supports the full production lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute production processes in cell culture and/or purification, ensuring critical steps are performed according to cGMP.
• Evaluate test results, resolve equipment issues, and support electronic batch record review, deviation investigations and CAPA implementation.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety and quality measures, and assist with commissioning and qualification activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering on campaign preparation, equipment changeovers, and conduct operator training.

Required profile

• Completed technical education (apprenticeship, advanced technical college, Bachelor) or a university degree (Bachelor/Master) in biotechnology, biochemical engineering or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in a GMP environment.
• Willingness to work a 4‑shift system and very good German or English language skills.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of GMP regulations.
• Experience with DCS (Delta V) systems.
• Experience with MES (Syncade) systems.
• Familiarity with cell culture and purification processes in large‑scale stainless‑steel facilities.
