Mechanical Design Engineer – High-Tech Sensor Technology

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading family‑owned global pioneer in measurement and automation technology. The role is based in the Basel area of Northwest Switzerland and focuses on the development of high‑precision Coriolis mass‑flow sensors for demanding industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and further develop complex measuring instruments and mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD while complying with international industrial standards.
• Plan, coordinate and assemble prototypes in close collaboration with internal workshops and testing laboratories.
• Define, execute and analyse stress and qualification tests throughout the development cycle.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, manufacturing drawings and detailed bills of materials within PLM/ERP systems.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship as a Design Engineer (EFZ) or comparable technical training, with additional higher education (HF/FH) preferred.
• Several years of experience in technical product design, preferably in precision engineering or equipment manufacturing.
• Fluent German and business‑level English for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern CAD systems, ideally Creo Parametric.
• Familiarity with ERP and PLM structures for data and BOM management.
