Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop custom tooling and equipment for aseptic fill‑and‑finish operations within isolator environments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet First Air protection, Annex 1 compliance and enhance operator safety.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop isolator tools, fixtures, change parts and operator aids for aseptic processes.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings and technical documentation.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and feasibility studies.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers and engineering partners during development and procurement.
• Apply hygienic design principles and GMP requirements throughout the design lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Several years of experience in machine design, special‑purpose machinery, pharmaceutical equipment or aseptic manufacturing.
• Strong ability to work independently in multidisciplinary project teams.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Advanced CAD modelling and drafting skills.
• Knowledge of hygienic design, GMP and Annex 1 requirements.
• Understanding of mechanical materials, tolerances and fabrication methods.
