Mechanical Design Engineer – Switchgear (80-100%)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join Hitachi Energy’s switchgear team. You will contribute to the development of cutting‑edge power technology by creating and optimizing mechanical designs for high‑voltage equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine mechanical designs for switchgear, producing detailed technical drawings.
• Use PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools to generate bills of materials and maintain documentation.
• Propose innovative solutions to improve mechanical design efficiency and performance.
• Perform mechanical simulations, especially stress analysis, to validate and enhance system reliability.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent training in mechanical design.
• Creative problem‑solver with a structured approach to technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLM tools.
• Experience in mechanical simulations and stress analysis.
• Ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
