Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Artidis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and industrialisation of its medical device technologies. You will work independently on complex mechanical challenges from concept through to production, supporting a fast‑moving, international start‑up environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and review detailed CAD models, assemblies and drawings using Autodesk Inventor and Vault (PDM).
• Define technical requirements, specifications and ISO GPS‑compliant designs for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Design, build and test prototypes, develop verification tests and manage design changes through the PDM system.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers and cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth transition to production.
• Prepare documentation for FDA (US) or Notified Body (EU) submissions and maintain design records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with electro‑mechanical systems and medical devices.
• Hands‑on experience with machined parts, welded assemblies, plastic injection and 3D‑printed components.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.

Required skills

• Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
• CAD modelling and technical drawing creation.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and ISO GPS standards.
• Experience with FDA or EU medical device design‑control documentation.
• Prototyping, testing and design verification procedures.
