Mechanical Supervisor (80-100%)

About the role

ABB is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead on‑site teams at customer locations in the mining industry. You will oversee the installation and maintenance of ABB Gearless Mill Drives, ensuring safety, quality and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical maintenance and installation activities for Gearless Mill Drives at customer sites.
• Coordinate work based on project scope, site conditions and available resources.
• Enforce ABB’s Environment, Health and Safety policies and conduct safety briefings.
• Ensure work complies with the latest technical documentation and ABB quality standards, reporting any discrepancies.
• Participate in site meetings with customers, contractors and ABB teams and prepare service and installation reports.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship as an industrial or mechanical technician/engineer.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on mechanical site experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry or power plants.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to travel globally on short notice, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and installation expertise.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions in English.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of ABB Gearless Mill Drives is an advantage.
