Medical Lead, Nephrology – Regional

About the role

The Biogen Intercontinental Region Medical Lead, Nephrology, will provide strategic medical leadership across the nephrology portfolio in the BIR region. This role connects global strategy with regional affiliate needs, focusing on pipeline development, launch readiness, evidence generation, and medical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional medical strategy and execution, ensuring affiliate insights and evolving standards of care shape global plans.
• Partner with affiliates and cross‑functional teams (Medical, Commercial, CE&O, Corporate Affairs, Value & Access) to maintain a consistent medical voice.
• Identify evidence, access, and patient journey gaps and provide strategic recommendations to address unmet needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with key medical experts, healthcare providers, scientific societies, and patient advocacy groups.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, including Medical Affairs leadership.
• Strong nephrology expertise and understanding of the scientific, clinical, and treatment landscape.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across global, regional, and affiliate stakeholders in a matrix organization.
• Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills.

Required skills

• Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD).
• Extensive experience developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies across product lifecycles.
