Medior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Countdown Company is seeking a Medior Mechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Orbe, Switzerland. You will work on a variety of projects across aerospace, watchmaking and food industries, developing tailored mechanical systems from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems that meet specifications and quality standards.
• Participate in all engineering phases: specification, design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and commissioning.
• Cover structural, drive, pneumatic, hydraulic, automation and safety aspects of each project.
• Create detailed CAD models, drawings and complex assemblies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, dimensioning, and performance analysis.
• Prototype, test and validate components and assemblies.
• Identify technical risks, resolve issues and support design reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers, prepare cost breakdowns and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• At least 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design and mechanisms.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel and within small engineering teams.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and automation systems.
• Experience in mechanical design, dimensioning and prototype testing.
