Mo Ibrahim Fellowship – Executive Office of ITC

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is offering a one‑year Mo Ibrahim Fellowship in the Office of the Executive Director (OED) in Geneva. The Fellow will work closely with the Chief Advisor to the Executive Director, gaining mentorship from the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director and preparing for future leadership roles in African and multilateral institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of strategic assignments on trade development, focusing on private‑sector issues and SME challenges.
• Conduct research and prepare briefing notes, working documents and analyses for high‑level discussions.
• Develop strategies for effective public‑private partnerships and resource mobilisation.
• Participate in the preparation and monitoring of ITC’s Business Plan and related evaluation activities.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Chief Advisor.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in economics, business, international development, international relations or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of relevant experience, preferably in international trade development, strategic planning, research on trade topics in Africa, or SME projects.
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills; ability to work with diverse multicultural teams.
• Fluency in English (required); proficiency in French or Spanish is desirable.
