Ocean Freight Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Freight Specialist at JAS will manage end‑to‑end import, export and cross‑trade ocean shipments, ensuring operational accuracy, timely execution and high customer service. The role involves coordinating with customers, carriers, agents and internal teams to move cargo smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and compare freight rates, prepare quotes and ensure shipment profitability.
• Take ownership of shipments from booking through final invoicing, managing customer updates and issue resolution.
• Handle customer invoicing, verify carrier and vendor invoices, and ensure timely billing.
• Maintain compliance with international regulations, customs laws and company policies.
• Identify and resolve shipping delays or problems, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Team player with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in German and English.
• Proactive problem‑solver who addresses operational challenges professionally.
