Onsite IT Support Technician

About the role

AVASO Technology is looking for an experienced Onsite IT Support Technician to join its Zurich team. You will provide both on‑site and remote desktop assistance, ensuring that end‑users receive fast and reliable IT support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and remote desktop support, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals and operating system deployments.
• Apply updates, patches and software packages, and perform routine system audits.
• Manage and resolve tickets, escalating complex problems to senior team members when needed.
• Provide end‑user training and create technical documentation.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure security and compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
• Fluent in English and German (B2 level).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Active Directory, group policies and security management.
• Remote desktop tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• MS Office Suite and other productivity software.
• Hardware diagnostics, repair and replacement.
• System imaging and deployment tools (SCCM, MDT).
• ITIL incident, problem and change management processes.
• Cloud applications: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace.
• IT security best practices.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or equivalent.
