Pharmaceutical Solid State Development Internship (Basel)

About the role

Join Roche’s Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development team in Basel for a 6‑9 month internship focused on drug delivery research. You will work alongside pre‑clinical Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control experts to develop solubility‑enhanced formulations and gain hands‑on experience in solid‑state science.

Key responsibilities

• Review scientific literature relevant to formulation projects.
• Train on standard operating procedures and laboratory equipment.
• Develop analytical methods for characterising model compounds.
• Prepare and characterise prototype amorphous solid dispersions using various techniques.
• Discuss progress regularly with supervisors and plan next steps.
• Write a final report summarising findings.

Required profile

• University student (or graduate within 12 months) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology or Pharmacy.
• Interest in drug delivery and solid‑state formulation.
• Reliable, accurate work style in a non‑GMP environment.
• Team‑oriented, self‑sufficient and problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent English; German language skills are a plus.
