Plan Engineer (80-100%)

About the role

Join Lonza’s Drug Product focused branch in Basel, Switzerland as a Plan Engineer. You will ensure reliable operation of laboratory equipment and facility systems while supporting continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for laboratory equipment and facility systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause investigations for critical equipment failures.
• Own and support Change Controls, CAPAs, Deviations, and Risk Assessments related to engineering systems.
• Maintain engineering documentation such as equipment records, drawings, specifications, and SOPs.
• Act as Engineering Subject Matter Expert during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, compliance, efficiency, and sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, Industrial engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in engineering roles within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of equipment lifecycle management, project execution and maintenance practices.
• Experience working in GMP‑regulated environments and quality systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with excellent command of English and German.
