Plant Engineering Lead

About the role

EngiCer SA, a Swiss specialist in advanced technical ceramics, is seeking a Plant Engineering Lead to drive reliability, efficiency, and growth of its production infrastructure in Balerna, Ticino. This on‑site role combines hands‑on machinery management with strategic project planning to support sustainable capacity expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise maintenance of all production machinery to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.
• Plan, design and supervise facility expansions, new equipment installations, and integration of state‑of‑the‑art technologies.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce material waste, operating costs and energy consumption.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety regulations and monitor quality standards.
• Identify and promote digitalisation and automation opportunities to enhance process efficiency and traceability.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical, industrial or materials engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance and production infrastructure management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in infrastructure project management, including planning, supervision and supplier coordination.
• Familiarity with occupational health & safety regulations.
• Good command of Italian and English.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Balerna.
