Platform Engineer – Infrastructure Control Plane & Workflow Automation

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a Platform Engineer to design and deliver automation solutions that enable product teams to self‑serve infrastructure resources. You will work on Kubernetes‑native control planes, Crossplane providers, and workflow automation tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of Kubernetes‑native control planes using Crossplane and Golang.
• Build and extend self‑service infrastructure offerings for product teams at scale.
• Develop and maintain workflow automation on the orchestration platform, writing business logic in JavaScript and other scripting languages.
• Coach product teams through documentation, workshops, and hands‑on guidance to adopt self‑service automation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the control plane and automation tooling, recommending improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing and operating Kubernetes Operators, preferably with Golang and Crossplane.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and the cloud‑native ecosystem.
• Experience building workflow automation using JavaScript, Python, PowerShell or similar languages.
• Proven ability to deliver technical projects independently and work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
