Platform Owner (Data Platform)

About the role

Julius Baer is seeking a forward‑thinking Platform Owner to lead the technical vision, roadmap and operational excellence of its global data platform. You will shape how data infrastructure is built, scaled and governed across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the end‑to‑end technical vision, multi‑year roadmap and lifecycle strategy for the global data platform.
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance and security by embedding non‑functional requirements, observability and resilience‑by‑design principles.
• Lead prioritisation and delivery of platform features, collaborating with product managers, scrum masters, development teams and architects.
• Own the platform backlog, balancing innovation, technical debt reduction and operational stability.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for incidents, audits and risk findings.
• Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs and KPIs, using metrics and OKRs to measure platform health and business value.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in technology roles within large, regulated enterprises, preferably financial services.
• Proven experience owning or scaling large‑scale data platforms and delivering technical visions and roadmaps.
• Strong communication skills, able to summarise complex issues for senior management and work with technical teams.

Required skills

• Apache Spark, Iceberg, Trino, Kafka, Kubernetes.
• Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop ecosystem.
• Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with risk and compliance frameworks for Swiss financial institutions.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
