Presales Storage Architect – Unstructured Data

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an experienced Storage Architect with deep expertise in unstructured data, AI, and analytics workloads. This hybrid role requires working on average two days per week from the HPE office in Wallisellen and involves close customer interaction to design, size, and optimize modern file and object storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with customers to architect scalable file and S3 object storage solutions for AI, analytics, and enterprise workloads.
• Lead technical workshops, assessments, benchmarks, and hands‑on proofs of concept (POCs).
• Size storage environments based on capacity, throughput, latency, network bandwidth, growth, and availability requirements.
• Design storage architectures for AI inference, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), analytics, and data lake workloads.
• Translate customer requirements into product feedback and roadmap recommendations.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting enterprise storage and data architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong customer‑facing architecture, consulting, or presales experience.
• Ability to travel for customer engagements.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of S3 object storage (buckets, APIs, authentication, data protection).
• Working knowledge of enterprise file protocols, especially NFS and SMB.
• Experience with AI inference, RAG, vector databases, data lakes/Lakehouse architectures, and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerScale/ObjectScale, Pure Storage FlashBlade, NetApp ONTAP/StorageGRID, VAST Data, Scality.
• Understanding of hybrid and multi‑cloud storage services on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
