Process Development Internship for Oligonucleotides

About the role

This 12‑month internship in Roche's Global Technical Development team supports process development for therapeutic oligonucleotides, offering hands‑on experience in a cutting‑edge biopharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support upstream process development of oligonucleotide manufacturing to create cost‑efficient, robust processes.
• Develop laboratory synthesis conditions, perform analytical tests, evaluate quality and yield, and interpret data.
• Design end‑to‑end control strategies, addressing impurities, robustness and critical control points.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement processes and contribute to problem‑solving discussions.
• Document experimental procedures, results and observations clearly.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Master’s program or graduated within the last 12 months in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of organic and process chemistry.
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with initiative, teamwork and flexibility.
• Experience with oligonucleotide chemistry, HPLC analysis or downstream techniques (ultrafiltration, preparative HPLC) is a plus.
