Process Engineer - Digital Manufacturing

About the role

The Process Engineer supports Industry 4.0 manufacturing and production improvement projects for Jabil’s Hägendorf, Balsthal and Tuttlingen sites. The role focuses on MES implementation, master data management, and continuous improvement within the Digital Manufacturing team.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and implement MES product portfolio, including master data, recipes, workflows and test work orders.
• Support transition from BabtecQ CAQ to Critical Manufacturing CAQ and related system changes.
• Prepare, cleanse, migrate and verify master data for MES and CAQ.
• Provide shop‑floor and post‑go‑live MES support, including hyper‑care, user guidance and issue escalation.
• Maintain compliance by troubleshooting MES issues, performing root‑cause analysis and defining work‑arounds.
• Drive MES procedure updates and deliver training, coaching and competency assessments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning and IT to align MES activities with production needs.
• Use data‑driven methods to monitor, analyse and improve medical device manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Bachelor required, Master preferred) in a relevant field.
• 0‑5 years experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
• Strong affinity for data analysis and continuous improvement.
• Fluent business communication in English and German.

Required skills

• MES implementation experience (design, configuration, testing, deployment, support).
• Knowledge of CAQ systems (BabtecQ, Critical Manufacturing).
• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with digital tools and manufacturing systems (CNC, heat‑treatment, injection molding, laser marking).
