Process Expert – Mammalian Cell Culture DSP (Ibex)

About the role

Lonza is seeking an experienced Process Expert to lead scale‑up, supervision and optimisation of mammalian cell culture downstream processing (DSP) within its Ibex® Solutions platform at the Visp site. The role involves full‑life‑cycle ownership of technology transfers and implementation at manufacturing scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional teams for technology transfer, process design, up‑scaling and timely implementation at manufacturing scale.
• Act as the interface between the process donor (customer or process development) and operations, ensuring scalability and manufacturability.
• Provide MSAT expertise for capital investment projects, delivering block‑flow diagrams, media/buffer lists and critical parameter lists.
• Implement manufacturing processes, interact with customers during tech transfer, and manage batch reporting, deviations and change requests.
• Compile CMC sections for filing documents, contribute to validation reports and standardised MSAT procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement, mentor staff, conduct trainings and perform GMP risk analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or related field; PhD preferred.
• More than 5 years of experience in biopharma manufacturing or process development, preferably mammalian cell culture.
• Fluency in English and German, strong leadership and communication skills.
• Structured, solution‑oriented and agile working attitude.
