Procurement Manager – Commodities

About the role

The company, a leading global consumer goods brand, is seeking a Procurement Manager for its strategic sourcing hub in Zug, Switzerland. Reporting to the Director of Sourcing, you will lead a high‑spend portfolio of approximately $600 M focused on specialized raw materials, commodities, and chemical ingredients, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity buying strategies using index‑based pricing and volume leverage to protect margins.
• Analyse global commodity market data and provide buy, hold, or defer recommendations.
• Lead multi‑year negotiations with complex pricing, capacity commitments and risk‑sharing structures.
• Manage the end‑to‑end category sourcing lifecycle, including RFx, contract implementation, value‑engineering and global footprint optimisation.
• Coach and develop a small team of associates, setting performance objectives and development plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management or procurement, with ownership of high‑spend categories.
• Proven expertise in commodity buying, market timing, index‑linked pricing and margin protection.
• Direct experience sourcing specialized ingredients, chemical formulations, aroma chemicals or fragrance components, including regulatory and IP considerations.
• Experience working in a global sourcing environment managing North American vendor bases, preferably in fast‑paced manufacturing or consumer goods.
