Production Line Leader - Powder Production

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company, is looking for a Production Line Leader for its powder production line. The role ensures that daily production runs meet health and safety, quality, efficiency, cost and production plan requirements, coordinates the production team, monitors process continuity and leads operational improvement on the shop floor. It reports to the Shift Leader / Production Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Organize powder production line activities according to daily and weekly production plans and assign tasks at the start of each shift.
• Monitor mixers, bunkers, dosing and transfer systems, filling and packaging, and ensure raw materials follow the correct recipe, quantity and sequence.
• Ensure production follows recipes, work instructions, SOPs and quality standards; monitor volume, scrap, downtime, rework and efficiency KPIs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on breakdowns and planned maintenance, and with Quality Control on product specifications and non-conforming products.
• Ensure daily equipment inspections, 5S standards, equipment cleaning and contamination prevention measures.
• Enforce occupational health and safety, PPE use, and isolation and reporting procedures for non-conforming items.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees, and take part in Lean, 5S, Kaizen, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Take part in daily production meetings, escalate issues affecting production, and stop production when there is a serious safety or quality risk.

Required profile

• Graduate preferably from a vocational high school, technical college or a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience in chemical, construction chemicals, cement, dry mortar or similar powder production processes.
• Ability to work in a shift-based production environment and strong awareness of occupational health and safety.
• Experience in team coordination and shop-floor leadership, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Basic computer skills for production and quality record management.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement is an advantage.
