Production Quality Assurance Specialist - Grid Energy (f/m/d)

About the role

GE Vernova's Oberentfelden site is a global centre of excellence for High-Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS, 72.5kV to 175kV) within its Grid Solutions business. As Production Quality Assurance Specialist, you will ensure that manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards throughout the production lifecycle, working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations teams to reduce defects and improve First Pass Yield (FPY). You will be the primary technical authority on the production floor for GIS.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements and applicable procedures.
• Monitor product quality during manufacturing and support final product release.
• Drive investigations of quality issues, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyse quality KPIs such as FPY, scrap and rework rates to find improvement opportunities.
• Support process qualification so that manufacturing processes stay capable and controlled.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Prepare quality documentation, reports and performance analyses using SAP, Excel and Power BI.
• Act as a technical quality interface for internal stakeholders and external customers.

Required profile

• Fluent German and good English, written and spoken, are mandatory; candidates who do not meet these will not be considered.
• Eligible to work in Switzerland; Swiss, EU/EFTA nationals or those holding a valid Swiss work permit are considered, but work permits are not sponsored.
• Technical apprenticeship combined with a degree (BSc/FH/HF) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in Production Quality, Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality.
• Proven expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and FMEA.
• Solution-oriented approach focused on minimising production downtime.
• Experience with high-voltage equipment, GIS or switchgear is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency in SAP and Power BI is highly desirable.
