Production Quality Manager

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s Gas Power division at the Birr repair shop and lead quality initiatives for critical turbine component overhauls. You will be the central quality authority, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for quality performance within the Repair Shop.
• Guide, support, and develop a small team of quality inspectors and engineers.
• Implement, sustain, and continuously improve Built‑In‑Quality (BIQ) principles.
• Promote a “Right First Time” approach through preventive quality methods.
• Support teams in meeting inspection plans, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
• Act as the main quality contact for internal and external customers.
• Ensure timely handling of non‑conformances (NCRs) with minimal operational impact.
• Lead structured root‑cause analyses (e.g., 8D, 5 Why) and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• Experience in quality, manufacturing, Lean or continuous improvement, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
• Understanding of inspection and testing methods for turbine components or similar equipment.
• Experience coordinating teams in production or quality environments.
• Knowledge of structured problem‑solving methods (8D, 5 Why) and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
• Fluent in German and English.
