Professeur ordinaire/associé en littérature italienne – Moyen Âge et Renaissance

About the role

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Geneva invites applications for a full‑time professor or associate professor position in Italian literature covering the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community and contribute to teaching, research, and departmental governance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate, master’s and postgraduate courses in Italian literature.
• Supervise master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
• Develop a nationally and internationally recognised research programme and secure external funding.
• Participate in the management and organisation of the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, as well as Faculty and University bodies.

Required profile

• Recognised specialist in early Italian literature (Middle Ages to Renaissance), with a focus on major medieval authors.
• Interdisciplinary openness, including cultural studies and digital humanities.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching at all university levels.

Required skills

• Doctorate in Literature or equivalent qualification.
• Proven teaching experience in medieval and Renaissance Italian literature.
• Experience in designing and leading research projects.
• Publication record including monographs with reputable academic publishers.
