Programme Management Officer – Nature Finance

About the role

The Programme Management Officer will support UNEP FI’s strategy to mainstream nature across financial institutions, helping align finance with global environmental agreements. Based in the Industry Innovation Branch in Geneva, the role reports to the Administrative Officer and leads the Nature Team.

Key responsibilities

• Implement UNEP FI’s nature strategy, coordinating resource mobilisation and integration with UN intergovernmental agreements.
• Oversee development, implementation and communication of the nature work programme, ensuring high‑quality outputs and guidance for the financial sector.
• Lead and manage the Nature Team, including budget administration, HR planning and performance management.
• Collect, analyse and visualise data to identify trends, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making and reporting.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business administration, economics, environment or sustainable development; a Bachelor’s plus two years experience may be accepted.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in programme or project management within nature, environment or sustainable development, with at least two years in data analytics.
• Proficiency in English (UN Level II); French is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to apply UN rules, regulations and policies in complex work situations.
