Project Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Project Buyer to lead purchasing activities for new product development and improvement projects within our medical‑device business. The role acts as the bridge between R&D, industrialisation, supply‑chain and external suppliers to secure the right goods and services at optimal cost, quality and lead‑time.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in product development, industrialisation and improvement projects from the early stages, analysing technical requirements and defining purchasing strategies.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers in collaboration with commodity buyers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage international RFQs, supplier consultations and negotiations, securing commercial, contractual and logistical terms aligned with project objectives.
• Support implementation of supplier and logistics agreements and ensure compliance with negotiated conditions.
• Maintain and develop the supplier panel, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assess supply‑chain risks (capacity, quality, geopolitical, lead‑time) and propose mitigation actions.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, industrialisation, quality, logistics and finance teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and process improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project purchasing, strategic sourcing or supply‑chain within an industrial environment.
• Experience in an international and technical setting is a strong advantage.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Good understanding of cost, quality and lead‑time considerations.
