Public Information Officer – Webcast (Temporary)

About the role

The Public Information Officer (Webcast) will manage live and on‑demand video coverage of UN Human Rights Treaty Body meetings and other major events in Geneva, ensuring multilingual streaming and high‑quality production.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling, production and distribution of daily live and on‑demand webcasts via UN Web TV and other platforms.
• Supervise webcast staff, coordinate post‑production, editing and publishing of video assets.
• Liaise with UN departments, Permanent Missions and external partners to plan coverage and ensure technical alignment.
• Prepare audience statistics, technical charts and workflow visualisations.
• Train new staff, consultants and interns on webcast hardware, software and media asset management systems.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in communication, broadcast journalism, information systems, computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in communications, broadcast engineering, multimedia production or related areas.
• Proficiency in English and French at UN Level III (reading, writing, listening) and Level I (speaking).
• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse technical and editorial teams under tight deadlines.
