Purser (Front Office & Finance)

About the role

The Purser is the financial and guest‑service leader aboard Uniworld’s luxury river vessels. You will ensure seamless front‑office operations, manage onboard cash flow, and deliver a warm, professional experience for guests while supporting the Hotel Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Provide attentive, personalized service, anticipating guest needs and handling concierge requests.
• Oversee front‑office functions: guest and crew check‑in/out, billing, cashier duties, currency exchange, questionnaires, records, and excursion bookings.
• Manage all onboard money flow, including safe handling, daily cash‑ier duties, deposits, and compliance with GRC rules.
• Conduct cruise and monthly financial closings, covering invoices, credit‑card settlements, cash books, city ledgers, inventory, transfers, and profit analysis.
• Control delivery notes for supplies and ensure proper use of IT and payment equipment.
• Supervise, train, and appraise Front Office staff, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to working‑hour regulations.
• Act as the Hotel Manager’s deputy during absences, issuing directives to officers and crew as required.
