QC Specialist II – Laboratory Equipment Qualification

About the role

Novartis' manufacturing site in Schweizerhalle, which produces oligonucleotide-based medicines, is looking for a motivated person to join its Laboratory Equipment Qualification team. This is a temporary role supporting automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and laboratory equipment qualification, so that equipment, systems and tools perform as intended and meet standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. The position is hybrid and offers a 2-year temporary contract.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the execution of change requests.
• Author and review qualification documentation in line with established GMP procedures.
• Support improvements to laboratory automation systems and contribute to AI-related initiatives.
• Coordinate qualification activities with laboratory teams and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences or a related field with a strong technological focus.
• Good understanding of chemical laboratory operations and workflows.
• Experience in programming, automation or the implementation of digital solutions.
• Fluent English and German.
• Desirable: previous experience in a GMP-regulated environment and a PhD.

What we offer

• Expected annual base salary of CHF 72,100 to 133,900, depending on skills, competencies and experience.
