Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a major construction project in Geneva. Reporting to the Contract Manager and working closely with the Project Manager, you will support commercial and contractual management, ensuring accurate cost control and payment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Contract Manager and Project Manager with contractual and commercial aspects of the project.
• Manage main contract matters with the client and subcontracts with designers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare commercial documentation for client payment applications and ensure compliance with payment procedures.
• Develop cost estimates for client‑instructed variations and submit variation proposals using BoQ unit rates or new rates.
• Support evaluation, quantification and preparation of additional requests and claims submitted to the client.
• Value subcontractors’ work and prepare interim payment certificates.
• Coordinate with technical teams to verify work progress and quantities for payment purposes.
• Review additional requests from designers, subcontractors and suppliers for contractual compliance.
• Contribute to monitoring and controlling the project’s commercial performance and contract compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role within construction.
• Good knowledge of cost control and contract administration.
• Fluent in English and Italian; French and/or German are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of SIA standards (advantage).
• Knowledge of KBOB standards (advantage).
