Railway Projects & Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Railway Projects & Maintenance Manager to lead planning, monitoring, and coordination of railway maintenance projects and the operational management of a fleet of work trains in an international environment. You will act as the primary liaison between clients, crews, and headquarters, ensuring safety compliance and optimal technical performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of railway maintenance projects and track progress.
• Organise and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for work trains.
• Manage budgets, costs, and human resources on‑site.
• Implement and monitor ERP and CMMS tools for maintenance planning and reporting.
• Ensure regulatory compliance under the 4th Railway Package and ECM levels.
• Implement and monitor service contracts with clients.
• Supervise project planning and execution, adhering to cost, deadline, and safety standards.
• Serve as daily interface with clients and handle technical specification changes.
• Prepare and monitor performance indicators and budgets.

Required profile

• Technical or engineering degree in mechanics, electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in site/project management and/or railway maintenance.
• Knowledge of railway vehicles; familiarity with ECM levels 3 and 4 is a plus.
• Proficiency with IT tools; fluent in German and English, French a plus.
• Organised, pragmatic, solution‑oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel for business (~25% of the time).
