Real Estate Controller (12‑month contract)

About the role

Hitachi Energy seeks an experienced Real Estate Controller for a 12‑month assignment to drive financial excellence across its global real estate portfolio. You will oversee reporting, performance analysis, compliance and investment assessments while collaborating with multiple functions and regions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting and performance analysis for the global real estate portfolio, including investment and corporate properties.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow analyses and financial plans supporting business objectives.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve internal controls, financial policies and governance frameworks for real estate activities.
• Conduct financial due diligence and provide commercial assessments for acquisitions, disposals, leasing transactions and strategic investments.
• Monitor portfolio performance against targets, KPIs and market benchmarks, identifying improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s degree or CPA/ACCA/CMA certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in financial controlling, real estate finance or accounting within an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles, including lease accounting under IFRS 16 or ASC 842.
• Solid understanding of tax implications and regulatory requirements for real estate transactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with reporting and Business Intelligence tools.
