Regional Finance Director

About the role

The Regional Finance Director will be based in Switzerland and will lead financial strategy, oversight, and operational excellence across a complex international portfolio. This senior finance leadership position combines global financial governance with hands‑on support for multi‑country operations, donor‑funded programmes and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for regional financial management, ensuring alignment with organisational policies, procedures and donor requirements.
• Strengthen financial controls, compliance and reporting across regional finance teams.
• Monitor regional financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support country teams with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to improve resource allocation.
• Review financial reports, audits and compliance findings, and drive corrective action plans.
• Guide proposal development, budget reviews and cost analysis for business development activities.
• Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights, risk analysis and recommendations for strategic decision‑making.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, mentoring and development of regional finance staff.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles within international, multi‑country environments.
• Proven track record of implementing strong financial governance, controls and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to work with donor‑funded programmes and complex funding regulations.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
