Research Assistant (Part‑time, 25%)

About the role
The Sleep and Neurodegeneration Animal Laboratory (SNAL) at the University of Zurich is looking for a part‑time Research Assistant (25% FTE) for a three‑year, funded position. The role supports cutting‑edge neuroscience research on Parkinson’s disease in an international, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain transgenic mouse colonies.
- Oversee laboratory pharmacy, consumables inventory and ordering.
- Support day‑to‑day laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and organization.
- Provide technical assistance to researchers, post‑docs and students.
Required profile
- Organised, proactive and reliable.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in laboratory management and animal research.
- Fluent in English.
- Available for a long‑term, part‑time (25%) commitment.
Required skills
- Experience with mouse colony management.
- Knowledge of laboratory inventory and pharmacy procedures.
- Basic laboratory equipment handling.
