Research Histopathology Technologist (m/w/d)

About the role

F. Hoffmann-La Roche is looking for an experienced, motivated and collaborative Research Histopathology Technologist (m/w/d) for its Tissue & Spatial Technologies Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative. The role provides focused histology services and on-boarding and support for the platform's open lab, working in a matrix team with experts from each therapeutic disease area to advance early drug discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Run end-to-end workflows for tissue specimens, including processing, embedding, sectioning and staining (IHC, ISH, IF)
• Perform quality control and routine maintenance of histology instruments, and troubleshoot them to ensure high-quality data
• Provide training and support in the use of histology equipment
• Collaborate with laboratory scientists to optimise tissue-based assays in early drug discovery projects
• Stay up to date with new histopathology technologies by following the scientific literature

Required profile

• University degree in life sciences or laboratory technologist background with at least three years of hands-on histology experience
• Fluent English and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment

Required skills

• Hands-on histological preparation of mammalian tissues, including cryopreserved nervous-system samples and organoids
• Fixation, embedding, sectioning and staining techniques
• Maintenance of histology equipment and regulatory assay documentation
