About the role

This off‑cycle internship (3‑6 months) gives you hands‑on experience in Barclays' Markets division, supporting senior colleagues with research, product development and client service in a fast‑paced trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute small research projects, prepare presentations and reports, and support strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on business initiatives and new product launches.
• Manage client relationships, respond to product queries and process transactions under decreasing supervision.
• Develop and implement financial models and strategies to aid market decisions.
• Participate in training programmes and mentor junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Penultimate or final year university student in any discipline.
• Fluent English; German desirable.
• Strong interest in business or finance and curiosity to learn.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit, often shown through extracurricular activities.
• Ability to perform tasks to a high standard, drive continuous improvement and adhere to Barclays values and risk policies.
