Scientist QC Microbiology (60-80% Part‑time)

About the role

Join Lonza's Stein site as a part‑time Scientist in QC Microbiology, supporting critical microbiological testing and material management in a GMP‑regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage laboratory consumables, ordering, stock monitoring and inventory control to ensure continuous availability of critical supplies.
• Perform routine microbiological tests such as bioburden, environmental monitoring, sterility and bacterial endotoxin assays.
• Document and coordinate analyses, maintain equipment, comply with cGMP and safety standards, and participate in on‑call duties.
• Support continuous improvement of microbiological methods and laboratory processes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in microbiological testing (bioburden preferred) within a GMP‑regulated pharma or biotech setting.
• Understanding of GMP requirements and strong attention to detail.
• Completed training as a Biology Laboratory Technician or a BSc in Biology or related life‑science field.
• Fluent English; German is a plus; flexible mindset for on‑call rotation.
