Secondary Design Engineer (80‑100%)

About the role

We are seeking a Secondary Design Engineer to join our GIS engineering team in Zurich. The role focuses on creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for high‑voltage GIS substation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare schematics and engineering documents for GIS secondary scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications.
• Support engineering execution across all project phases, from base design to as‑built updates.
• Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved tools.
• Perform structured self‑checks and ensure high‑quality, standard‑compliant deliverables.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship (EFZ) in electrical engineering, automation or related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in electrical design, drafting or automation.
• Good understanding of electrical engineering principles and interest in high‑voltage substations.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable working style.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD or similar engineering software.
• Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience generating BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
