Security Operations Specialist (Checkpoint)

About the role

We are looking for a Security Operations Specialist with deep expertise in Checkpoint firewall environments. The role focuses on the full lifecycle management of Checkpoint appliances, ensuring they remain secure, up‑to‑date and operational within a complex energy‑sector infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and implement OS updates and security patches on Checkpoint appliances.
• Coordinate hardware replacement and exchange of Checkpoint devices, especially within clustered systems.
• Communicate outage plans and involve key stakeholders throughout the change process.
• Operate and engineer Checkpoint firewall environments to maintain optimal performance.
• Collaborate on projects related to the existing Checkpoint install base.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience with Checkpoint firewall operation and engineering.
• Proven experience managing hardware and software lifecycles of Checkpoint appliances.
• Background in the energy sector or similar environments with complex architectures and zone concepts.
• ITIL certification or demonstrable experience applying ITIL processes.
• Fluent German (C1/C2 level) for effective communication.
