Senior Accounting Consultant / Technical Controller

About the role

This senior‑level position is based in Switzerland and focuses on technical accounting excellence, audit readiness, and financial controls. You will work closely with senior leadership to guide complex accounting matters, support system migrations, and drive continuous improvement across the accounting function.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert for US GAAP compliance and provide guidance on complex accounting transactions.
• Lead lease accounting activities, including Right‑of‑Use assets, lease liabilities, contract assessments and modifications.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, covering capitalization policies, lifecycle management, impairment assessments and disposals.
• Enhance month‑end close procedures by improving accrual methods, enforcing cut‑off controls and increasing reporting accuracy.
• Develop and maintain robust balance‑sheet reconciliation processes, control reviews and account ownership frameworks.
• Prepare audit schedules, technical accounting documentation and supporting reports for external audits.
• Partner on accounting system migration projects, documenting workflows, identifying control gaps and ensuring technical requirements are met.
• Evaluate financial risks, investigate discrepancies and strengthen internal controls to mitigate fraud.
• Collaborate with leadership to align operational accounting activities with strategic financial governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA, CIA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
• Proven senior‑level experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Auditor, Assistant Controller or similar role.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, including hands‑on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting and complex capitalization policies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as NetSuite and experience supporting accounting software.
