Senior Analyst, Statistics Solution

About the role

IATA represents over 350 airlines worldwide and is recruiting a Senior Analyst for its Statistics Solution within the Data Services, Governance and Quality team in I&D. The team collects, manages, governs, documents and uses data consistently across the organisation and with industry partners. The role focuses on the methodological soundness, analysis and operational use of data, working closely with the Senior Statistician, Data Engineering, business stakeholders and Data Services colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Apply statistical methods to analyse airline and industry datasets, supporting reliable indicators, trends, validations and insights.
• Work with SQL and modern data tooling (including AWS, dbt and related platforms) to prepare, validate and improve statistical datasets and analytical workflows.
• Develop analytical outputs and lightweight applications (e.g. Streamlit) to support monitoring, reporting and user-facing analysis.
• Support industry members and internal users by answering queries, clarifying methodology and definitions, and investigating data or statistical issues.
• Deliver dedicated statistical studies and ad hoc analyses, and contribute to improving methodologies, documentation, controls and data products.

Required profile

• Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in statistical analysis, applied statistics or similar roles producing and interpreting statistical outputs.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Prior experience in a statistical role (e.g. airline, CAA, MoT, central bank or other large institution) is a strong plus.

Required skills

• R or Python, SQL and modern data environments (AWS, dbt)
• Streamlit or similar tools are an advantage
• Strong communication and operational support skills, able to explain statistical concepts and answer user queries
