Senior Business Analyst - Financial Crime Compliance & Market Conduct
Capco · Zurich
Job description
About the role
Capco, a global technology and business consultancy for the financial services sector, is looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to shape the strategic transformation of its Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) and Market Conduct & Trade Surveillance (MCTS) capabilities within Legal & Compliance. Working at the intersection of compliance, business, technology, architecture and data, the role leads the business definition of target states, builds transformation roadmaps and acts as the senior business-analysis and transformation lead for selected FCC and MCTS initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the business definition of strategic target states, aligning Compliance, Technology, Architecture and Data and turning them into actionable transformation plans.
- Assess current capabilities and run gap analyses across processes, organisation, systems, architecture, data quality and governance, turning findings into prioritised measures and investment considerations.
- Define business and technology requirements, use cases and options, including improving data quality, reducing false positives, automating and scaling alert handling, and strengthening monitoring and surveillance.
- Translate target states into multi-year roadmaps with priorities, milestones, dependencies, sequencing, responsibilities, investment and trade-offs.
- Facilitate cross-functional decisions, frame options and trade-offs, and prepare concise recommendations for senior management.
- Define measurable outcomes such as improved control effectiveness, reduced manual effort and false positives, better data quality and lineage, increased automation and improved scalability.
- Ensure traceability from regulatory, policy and control objectives through requirements, solution design and implementation.
Required profile
- Demonstrated Financial Crime Compliance expertise, ideally with project or consulting experience designing and digitally transforming FCC solutions in a comparable financial-services environment.
- Deep experience in one or more core domains such as AML/CTF, sanctions or PEP screening, with enough breadth to cover adjacent FCC areas including tax compliance.
- Proven change and organisational capabilities, especially stakeholder management, facilitation, Target Operating Model definition and preparing decision materials for senior management.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with experience turning target states into multi-year roadmaps in complex transformations.
- Fluent English and German are a must.
Bonus points
- Experience in Market Conduct, Trade Surveillance or similar monitoring and surveillance environments.
- Strategic concepts spanning FCC, Legal & Compliance and wider banking transformation.
- Familiarity with surveillance challenges such as false-positive reduction, alert management and data quality.
- Experience assessing investment requirements and coordinating transformation plans with enterprise architecture or bank-wide programmes.
