Senior Data & AI Engineer – Snowflake (all genders)

About the role

As a Technical Lead you are responsible for the architecture and implementation of modern data platforms on Snowflake – from target architecture to productive operations. Together with business and IT you translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and establish Snowflake best practices in your teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Snowflake data platforms, including warehouse sizing, clustering, caching and performance tuning.
• Build scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python/Snowpark, dbt, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables and UDFs.
• Integrate source systems such as SAP, CRM and streaming data sources.
• Implement GenAI and ML use cases directly on Snowflake with Cortex AI components.
• Ensure data quality, governance, cost efficiency and ongoing performance optimisation.
• Automate deployments with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on AWS or Azure.
• Run workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, effort estimations and support sales/pre‑sales activities.
• Coach colleagues and grow the Snowflake community across the DACH region.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science or comparable field with at least 6 years of data‑engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
• Proven delivery of Snowflake projects in key roles, such as cross‑departmental platforms or migrations from legacy systems (Oracle, Teradata, SAP BW).
• Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, query tuning, monitoring and cost optimisation.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, experience with dbt and modern data‑modeling techniques (star schema, Data Vault).
• Experience with data integration and orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Fivetran, Openflow).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or Azure, CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Experience with AI/ML use cases, ideally using Snowflake Cortex or Snowpark ML.
• Fluent in German and English.
