Senior DevOps Engineer C5I

About the role

RUAG, which employs around 3,000 people and supports the security of Switzerland, is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for its C5I unit. The role covers designing, implementing and operating secure, open-source groupware and collaboration services, and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure and containerized applications in an on-premise private cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate secure, open-source groupware and collaboration services, including email, file sharing, messaging and document editing.
• Build and maintain Linux-based infrastructure and containerized applications in an on-premise private cloud.
• Integrate and manage identity and authentication services such as LDAP and OIDC.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications in Kubernetes environments.
• Operate supporting services such as databases, storage, monitoring, backup and recovery.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues across infrastructure, networks and applications, and continuously improve service reliability, security and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and open-source infrastructure.
• Experience with self-hosted email, groupware or collaboration platforms.
• Swiss citizenship is required.

Required skills

• Networking and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, IMAP, HTTP and TLS.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automation, CI/CD and scripting with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with LDAP, OIDC or SAML is an advantage.
