Senior DevOps Engineer - Platform

About the role

Proton is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and scale the platform that powers the daily workflow of hundreds of engineers. You will work on a distributed, high‑impact team that builds the CI/CD and GitOps infrastructure supporting both on‑premises and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and scale CI/CD pipelines handling tens of thousands of jobs per day, including capacity planning and runner architecture.
• Advance GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and manage cluster state across multiple environments.
• Improve supply‑chain security by extending SAST, artifact attestation and other DevSecOps controls.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across network, application and system layers.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Kubernetes in production, including tuning and troubleshooting on‑prem Linux systems.
• Hands‑on background with CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab CI.
• Practical knowledge of GitOps, especially with ArgoCD.
• Software development ability in Python, Go or Rust to build infrastructure tooling.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Security‑oriented mindset with exposure to DevSecOps and supply‑chain security practices.
