Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Zurich. The engineer manages and delivers electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams from design coordination through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all electrical systems and engineering activities within the project scope, including site operations and day-to-day electrical works.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as client teams, consultants, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review design documentation, IFC drawings and specifications; coordinate BIM and design development so installation drawings match programme requirements.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications, and support planning, coordination and engineering management.
• Ensure compliance with Mercury policies, procedures and standards, and support project QA, including QA documentation.
• Support site safety activities with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor, including safety file management and closeout.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, progress, manpower and weekly coordination meetings; manage construction work packs, snagging and defect closeout.
• Monitor direct labour and subcontractor hours, attend site and engineering meetings, and produce weekly cost and progress reports.
• Manage technical submittals, material procurement (take-offs, delivery schedules, EMRs) and engineering documentation.
• Maintain photographic records and engineering logs, assist with tender evaluation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage BIM priorities, modularisation, fabrication details, isometric generation, asset validation and change control.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering electrical engineering packages on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems installation, commissioning and project delivery.
• Experience with BIM, design coordination, subcontractor management and multidisciplinary teams.
• Full eligibility to work in the project location.
