Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join a well‑established Swiss industrial company with international operations. The Senior Financial Accountant will take ownership of general ledger accounting, financial closing and reporting, and contribute to finance and process improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage the general ledger accounting for multiple legal entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings in line with Swiss GAAP, Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and IFRS.
• Handle Swiss VAT activities and filings.
• Support financial reporting and analyse accounting and financial data.
• Contribute to finance projects, process improvements and ad‑hoc topics.
• Act as a reliable deputy within the accounting team and support colleagues as needed.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in an international environment.

Required profile

• Completed Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Finance and Accounting (Fachausweis) or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of professional accounting experience with strong GL exposure.
• Proven ability to manage GL accounting independently.
• Very strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with Swiss accounting and financial closing; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Good understanding of Swiss VAT.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Structured, analytical, reliable and detail‑oriented with a hands‑on approach.
